RIC – SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT BUILDING

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing system design for a new 33,000 SF, 18 bay, vehicle storage building with sleeping quarters, toilets and locker rooms. The mechanical systems included gas fired radiant heating, overhead vehicle exhaust, and a building exhaust system controlled by the facility carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide gas detection system. High volume low speed ceiling fans were used to enhance occupant comfort. Plumbing design included domestic water, sanitary and vent, and natural gas piping. Plumbing design also included a truck wash area, distributed compressed air and water systems for power washing stations, trench drain and solids separation system, and an oil and sand separator. Electrical design included generator back-up power for the entire building. The facility interior and exterior lighting systems included LED fixtures and a building control system for automatic shutoff.
